Elmar Drews (born 1945) in Schivelbein Pommern,
studied Art, English, German Language and Literature at University
in Hamburg and Kiel. Since 1966 Elmar Drews exhibited frequently in the Northern part of Germany with one man shows and mixed exibitions. His prefered techniques were: oil on canvas, collages and wood cuttings. The main style of his paintings and drawings are Expressionism and Surrealism. Visitors to his exhibitions will often find a
mixture of both styles in his paintings, which
sometimes makes them feel a little unsure in understanding them,
whether they depict human beings, landscapes or seascapes. |
